Severn Valley Railway Spring Steam 'Reunion' Gala, Saturday 6th March 2010 PART 1
Suposed to be Video 200: The Severn Valley Railways annual spring steam gala this year took the theme of 40 Years of the running of the first train over the then newly opened Severn Valley Railway, when now based at the south devon railway, GWR 2251 Class 3205 hauled the first train from Bridgnorth to Hampton loade
since then the line has become one of the most famous railways in the whole of Great Britain, from having a truely excellent steam locomotive fleet and hosting several special events which attract people from far and wide to visit the line, to appering in films such as The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia) & the classic comedy Oh, Dr Beeching.
The Railway hired in 4 engines to take part in the special years events, they were;
GWR 56xx 0-6-2 Taffy Tank 6695 (From the Swanage Railway)
GWR 57xx 0-6-0 Pannier Tank 5786 (From the South Devon Railway)
LNER K4 2-6-0 Mogul 61994 'The Great Marquess'
BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 Class 78019 (From the Great Central)
as well as those, home based engines were on the day of my visit;
GWR 45xx 2-6-2 Small Prairie 4566
GWR 57xx 0-2-0 Pannier Tank 5764
GWR 5101 2-6-2 Large Prairie 5164
GWR 78xx 4-6-0 Manor Class 7802 'Bradley Manor'
LMS Ivatt 4MT 2-6-0 'Flying Pig' Class 43106
LMS Ivatt 2mt 2-6-0 Mickey Mouse Class 46443
& also up at bridgnorth a BR Class 08 Shunter assisted with the shunting of the GWR Freight train.
in this part, we see action from Bewdley, Hampton Loade & Bridgnorth, with various locomotives being caught on film

NB, i'm sorry in advance for rapid zooming on some shots, this is down to me still not being used to the new camcorder, however i will promise i'll get better, just got to get the hang of it haha
